She uses her giant pumpkin to make pumpkin pies, pumpkin scones, creamy pumpkin soup for Wilbur, and dish after dish of roast pumpkin. Winnie decides she needs a seaside break, so she and Wilbur zoom off to the coast. Winnie makes a beeline for the sea to cool down. Wilbur makes a beeline for anywhere other than the sea - he hates water, and can`t bear getting wet. Winnie is having so much fun in the water that she doesn`t notice her broomstick being washed out to sea. She waves her magic wand in an attempt to get the broomstick back but it doesn`t really go according to plan. Winston Churchill `mobilized the English language and sent it into battle`. President John F. Kennedy conferring Honorary US Citizenship, April 1963 Winston Churchill was the most eloquent and expressive statesman of his age. When Britain stood alone and all but defenceless, with his resolute and pugnacious tone and puckish sense of humour he inspired his fellow-countrymen to resist, to fight and to conquer. While the definitive collection of Churchill`s speeches fills eight volumes, here, his grandson, Winston S. Churchill, has put together a personal selection of his favourite speeches in a single volume. He has chosen from his grandfather`s entire output covering the whole of Churchill`s life, from his maiden speech to his last days....
A collection of over 200 rare and previously unpublished photographs revealing the many aspects of Winston Churchill`s life: military leader, politician, author and artist. This book documents key events in Churchill`s public life, as well as more intimate private moments. It is a thought-provoking, visual portrait of one of the most important figures in 20th century history.
