In some versions of Windows such as windows 2000
the windows will close the program window before 
part of the program can be displayed. 

To solve this do the following:
In the start menu click on "Run"

Type "command" into the dialog box.

A program will start. To run a file simply type the
file's full name and path. For example to run the 
"Hello World" program in chapter 1 you would type
something similar to the following:

E:\Chapter1\1-1HelloWorld
