It consists of a metal keyboard played by touching it with a stylus — each note being connected to a voltage-controlled oscillator via a different-value resistor - thus closing a circuit. The only other controls were a power switch and a vibrato control on the front panel beside the keyboard, and a tuning control on the rear. Some three million Stylophones were sold, mostly as children`s toys.

The race is a handicap like the Melbourne Cup, which means that horses that compete in the Caulfield Cup are capable of running on the first Tuesday of November as well. Performances in the Caulfield Cup are one of the possible qualification methods for a run in the Melbourne Cup. The race is open to horses three-years-old and over.

He presents the results of his statistical analysis of crime data for every county in the United States during 29 years from 1977 to 2005. The book examines city, county and state level data from the entire United States and measures the impact of 11 different types of gun control laws on crime rates. The book expands on an earlier study published in 1997 by Lott and his co-author David Mustard in The Journal of Legal Studies. Lott also examines the effects of gun control laws, including the Brady Law.
