Poems of Elements, Elephants and Stuff
Raw elements of earth, air, fire and water combine here with birds, beasts, elephants and elements of the author`s own creation to make a lively, broad-based collection of poetry. Some poems hint at the delicate brushstrokes of the haiku (`Poem of Japan=Nihon` and `Poem of Feathers`), while others reveal amusing puns and paragrams (`Cracking break/Whacking quake` and `The pleasant sky/Pheasants fly`). Figures from fantasy and weird settings fund the fairy-tale atmosphere of the three short stories that are included with the poems, while the author`s unorthodox themes offer constant surprises in a world presented through a delightfully distorting prism. This is what poetry is all about.
