Washburn started manufacturing the Idol series. This series of guitars comprises mostly single-cut models with humbucker pickups. One of the notable features of these guitars is Washburn's patented Voice Contour Control (VCC). This is similar to a tone knob on the standard electric guitar, except when the knob is at "10" it has a humbucker tone, while at "1" it has a single coil tone.
